What to do in Ravenna


The architecture in Ravenna is very impressive, with influences including Roman, Gothic, Byzantine and Venetian. The city is brimming with culture, from art and theatre to ballet and opera. There are also several miles of beaches to enjoy with all the usual water activities available.

Tourist Attractions


Ravenna boasts to be the 'worldwide capital of mosaics'. There are plenty of places to find some excellent examples, including the Palace of Theoderic and Santa Eufemia Church. Ravenna's basilicas such as St Vitale and St Apollinare and its mausoleums such as Galla Placidia, are also highly celebrated. There are some fascinating museums to explore for those that have time.

The Emilia-Romagna coast is known for its great outdoor activities which include: golf, tennis, horse-riding, cycling, beach volleyball, swimming, wind-surfing, sailing, jet-skiing and water-skiing. Dance parties on the beach are also popular throughout the summer months.
